Falmer opens August 2011, we need to be in the Championship by then ideally. Who do you think is good enough to get us there?

For me:

Kuipers - good enough
Whing - not good enough
Elphick - not good enough
Tunnicliffe - not good enough
McNulty - might be good enough (if he can defend)
Bennett - good enough
Crofts - good enough
Dicker - not good enough
Cox - not good enough
Forster - good enough
Murray - good enough
Dickinson - probably good enough (3rd choice)
Davies - not good enough
Hart - not good enough
Wright - not good enough
Navarro - not good enough
El-abd - not good enough
McLeod - not good enough
Hawkins - not good enough
Livermore - not good enough
Smith - not good enough
Virgo - not good enough

And there lies the reasons why that unless Bloom spends at least £2 million on the squad in the next two transfer windows, we'll be kicking off at Falmer in League 1 against the likes of Carlisle and Hartlepool.

I don't know about Tunni, Elph, Virgo.

Either they are shite, or they are being coached badly...

Dicker isn't good enough to get us promoted, but Kuipers IS?

I bet most people would disagree.

Kuipers Yes (need good back up)/ or someone to compete for no.1)
Whing (on form yes)
Tunni yes
Elph (on form yes)
Jimmy mac (yes)
Dicker (yes)
Crofts(yes)
Cox (no - ok squad player)
Bennett (yes)
Forster (yes - should have one more season in him)
Murray (yes)
Dickenson (OK back up striker)
Navarro (no)
Wright (doubt it)
Virgo (not from what i've seen -cover at CB)
Davies (cover maybe / impact sub)
Smith (no)
Hart (no)
El Bad (no - ok as squad back up)

Feel we need - left wing to balance Bennett/atacking midfielder playmaker/Experienced CB / RB competition (Hoyte?) / New striker

In summary with first choice squad could make play offs - a bit off investment could be automatic.

Relegation candidates to promotion in one season is a VERY tall order, have you considered that we may be in this division for a while, and it may take being at Falmer to give us a chance of building a promotion challenging team? I imagine quite a few of the "not good enough" players will be playing for us for a while.

My line into yesterdays game was that it wa agreat pity we werent playing some of the dross that we had lost earlier at home to. I dont think losing was that much of a surprise given the quality of this Leeds side.

If Capello had drawn Croatia away in first game england would have been undone. Meeting them after hed been working awhile we stuffed them out of sight. Start passing judgements on the indivduals when Gus has had a chance to organise and leave his mark on the team.

I think Tunnicliffe and Dicker could, in time, develop into class players, in the right unit. Likewise Bennett who at the moment does the defensive job ok but doesnt hurt teams as much as he could. Others may come through, a lot of those player may fall by the wayside.

Two predictions, one is that I dont think we'll end up with both full backs being incapable of attacking, as we had yesterday, and the formation will be more fluid.

its funny because i think just about every player there has played in the chamionship and quite a few listed as "not good enough" have been involved in promotions. the coaching/tactics is whats been missing, not the players.

are they good enough to stay in the chamionship is the real question, most probably not as thats why they are here.

I'd say these are good enough:

Kuipers
McNulty
Elphick
Cox
Tunnicliffe
Murray
Dicker
Crofts
Bennett

Question marks over:

Whing
Wright
Forster (due to his age)
Dickinson
Virgo
J Smith

One thing is clear we do not currently have the defenders to get us out of the division. I suspect that the only two we will keep are McNulty and Tunnicliffe. The rest are too slow and Whing cannot defend.
