That ones easy, when you have an unbalanced number of people politically plus one thats got their thumb on the political scale (Badifsh) with moderates who do not enforce the rules evenly which encourages others not to post you end up with a dumpster fire like this thread.
I have to ask. Regardless of his political leanings - don't you, as a human being, find Trump the most horrific example of a human? Money driven, humourless, misogynistic, boorish, egocentric, nasty, selfish, utterly stupid, greedy fat cat banal bully. Even if I supported his idiotic policies I just don't understand how anyone could possibly look at the witless, soulless troll and feel anything other than utter contempt and revulsion.

Yes indeed, nothing to do with people calling out the undiluted and unsubstantiated twaddle you constantly post.

This is an interentsting question. I wonder if you will get an answer, from what I have seen our trump cultists tend to duck this one.

I think there is a feeling amongst his supporters that he is a man of the people stand up for the masses and giving the man a bloody nose. I guess if you can do the mental gymnastics to see him as 'one of us' this is very appealing. Farage pulled the same trick so perhaps the appeal for this kind of narrative is really strong?

I find it astonishing that some people still believe that the laptop isn’t real, which is what CD is specifically referencing.

I agree with you 👍.
And then I think...what sort of life do the people have that actually want Trump to be their leader? What issues do they have? What social circles do they keep? Are they totally angry all the time?

God knows. Thing is, he isn't an underdog or plucky or a man of the people. He's the exact opposite. He has no depth, no subtlety, no sensitivity and no charm. He has never ever said anything funny, not once. His idea of a joke is a crude insult. The sad fact I guess is that his followers must also have these "attributes" and that is as depressing a thought as it's possible to have.

No he clearly isn't an underdog and clearly is the charmless goon you describe.

I totally agree with your post. It beggers belief that people support him.

What I also find thoroughly depressing is that in the whole of the US, Trump and Biden are the best they can pick to lead the country. How have they ended up here?

Why would Biden leave the race?

Because he and trump are not fit to run the country?
Neither of them will willingly leave the race, IMO. Biden might be 81 but, when you actually listen to him, he DOES speak a lot of sense.

And there's no way the GOP will go against Trump, especially if Biden was out of the picture. As I said in this thread before, he would destroy any other candidate from the Dems.

On NSC for over two decades...
The one difficult thing about NSC is that you don’t know if you’re responding to an adult or a 10 year old.

Come on, I don't think 10 year olds would lower themselves to using such an outdated form of communication as an internet forum! I definitely don't think Junior Orange, who is a little older, would, as it involves both reading and writing! :D

I doubt many 10 year olds would have either watched The Inbetweeners or understand references to it. So, Occam's Razor and all that...
Also: by using sarcasm to dismiss Cordwainer's sarcastic post to you, you've kinda f***ed* your opportunity for moral or intellectual superiority.

Well seemingly I’ve been whooshed, but I’ve never watched The Imbetweeners or understand the reference to it. I shall therefore bow to your moral and intellectual superiority and assume the meme is absolutely f***ing hilarious.

This is how the media edits and misrepresents. He has his faults as does Biden, except they get amplified and suppressed depending on who it is.

Biden has a long history of making racist remarks, Hillary as well (Super predators) and yet for a man with no filter on his mouth they can't produce one but still try to portray Trump as a bigot. Don't you find that strange?

I find it astonishing that some people still believe that the laptop isn’t real

So the president's father (cough - son) owned a laptop, and had it repaired. The data on the laptop was looked at (possibly without a warrant). And no wrongdoing by the president was found.

Wow, stop the press!
