SHOREHAM BY SEA
There was some vile person at Novara Media who was celebrating Israeli deaths but these people are few and far between.

Most people know there are 2 sides in this long running conflict and have a more measured view of the situation than our own government
Unfortunately i have seen loads of clips on social media celebrating Israeli deaths

I'm closing this for a few hours to let everyone decompress a bit.

Read post 1 in this thread please:

I don't want to ban people who have been longstanding members on here so please, please, please stop insulting each other.

Fair enough.

It feels like one of those times where the site is running a bit out of control, with people taking the opportunity to take potshots at others here, there and everywhere.

I'm usually pretty thick-skinned on all of this, but do bite sometimes if I feel some criticism is unwarranted.

Apologies for striking out.

I am genuinely interested though - as I'm working on some things in the background - what would your ideal BHAFC site look like? What features would it have?
I genuinely thank you for your reply. Like PBOBE, I fail to understand where you get the time, patience...and understanding....to reply to all and sundry, including myself.

To be honest there is little or nothing you can personally do to change this forum to one that I would prefer. I do think it's a wonderful forum as it stands. I do enjoy the variety of subjects. I do enjoy by far far the majority of posters. I think my "likes" count hugely outweighs those I receive back. Mainly because so many posters , postings ,make me smile and often laugh too. A rare commodity in this troubled world.

I want perfection solely for me, which of course is hopelessly unobtainable. I accept that...( most of the time ) but occasionally my immediate response to some posters oversteps the mark. I'm not great at putting across what I mean on this internet thingy.

As always, I try to improve and oddly enough am quite pleased that I have managed to avoid a ban for quite a few years. Nothing much for most, but I regard as an achievement for me.

I thankyou for your time, your patience and above all for this forum, despite it "ONLY" meeting 98% of my needs. I will, in return try harder not to cross "the lines" so often.

Sadly predictable because Israel has been lobbying rockets into Lebanon at what appear to be IRG tanks/weapons earlier ..

My conspiracy theory/fear now is that Israel is trying to drag Hezbollah into the conflict to prepare the ground work for the US/Israel (and presumably would drag her allies into it - us included) to attack Iran under the auspices of ‘defending of Israel ’ but with the hidden agenda of removing Iran’s capabilities of developing nuclear weapons - since Trump (probably egged on by Netanyahu) tore up the Arms Deal …and was always in favour of taking a more confrontational approach to ‘deal’ with Iran … we’ve been left with no way to monitor or control Iran’s push for nuclear weapons … Is this why why are seeing no ‘exercise restraint’ from US/UK but a repeated siren call that Israel must be allowed to defend herself and all Palestinian protest is anti-semitic?? 😳

… dear HWT - please try not to speed read, I didnt say I would vote Tory -I said - “PS Starmer has proven to me he’s a total self-serving twanker and won’t be getting my vote at the next election, I would rather not exercise the right to vote” “or vote green” AND NOT specifically referring to the current conflict - I decided that months ago” My prerogative.

But back to the thread topic? …🤷‍♂️
Jesus,.. your conspiracy paranoia is palpable... I don't know how you get up in the mornings....

I'm presuming we can post again?

Have nothing to say except this shitstorm is clearly getting worse and I expect the IDF will be over the border shortly.

There has been indications that Israel are plotting a ground invasion in the Gaza Strip.

What will happen to this area, will it be annexed by Israel? If anyone has any information about this, it would be greatly appreciated (y)

Personally, I dont believe that is the endgame here - Israel will not want to re-occupy the Gaza for any length of time after a ground war and it would not be acceptable to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank or the International community - it certainly wouldnt be acceptable or legal to annex Gaza by military force - Israel is already an illegal occupier of the OPT (West Bank (including East Jerusalem , Gaza and with illegal settlements in parts of the Golan Heights in the North) and look what a shit storm’s that’s causing in the axis of resistance (Syria, Lebanon, Iran) and the Middle Eastern region as a whole.

If … Israel defeat Hamas on the ground in Gaza - (and obliterate Hamas’s presence in Gaza which is their aim) - once a ceasefire had been brokered - maybe by Turkey or Saudia Arabia and Jordan, I imagine Israel will want to hand the rule back over to a leader/authority that she could work with like Abbas and the Palestinian Authority in the North.

However, if Israel does re-occupy Gaza by destroying Hamas, I think it will toll a death knell for the already critically wounded two state solution for the Palestinian/Israel question. The only way forward from this may be a one State solution which might be acceptable to the Palestinians given the territory they have already lost which will be further compounded by the crushing of their administrative leader but Netanyahu is a long way from that yet.

For balance I have seen clips of Israelis cheering as they drive cars backwards and forwards over dead Palestinians.

'An eye for an eye' seems to be the argument mainly. Well if that is how the whole thing is to be 'conducted' the Middle East will explode. WHOEVER the original perpetrators of such barbarity.

Quite. The trouble with an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth is that everyone ends up blind and toothless.

Hamas are an evil terrorist organisation that should be eliminated.Their actions over the weekend were disgusting.

There must however be balance. Our government are 100% supporting Isreal. It is only after 5 days of bombing civilians, cutting off fuel, power, food and water that the BBC are starting to get some balance- how many Palestinian children have died so far? I believe that the Israeli’s are on the verge of genocide. And our government support this blindly without calls for restraint and no attempt at brokering peace.

Priti Patel then threatens anybody that questions these actions.

Agree with much of what is being said. The media report on Israel (the victim), hamas (the terrorist) but Palestine is totally forgotten.
