That’s a shame - thought this coming season might see him become a more regular starter.
I think he needs to start this coming season. Hence the loan. He is a good player with lots of potential, but not quite a starter for us regularly yet. So a loan makes a lot of sense. Then when he comes back he will be ready.

I'd have thought with all the Europa games there would have been plenty of opportunities for game time. Strange decision.
Judging by the Chelsea friendly, he is behind Joao Pedro and Adingra now. And even those players have to dislodge talents like Mitoma or Lallana to get a starting place. He was never going to get 35 games this season which I think he needs in terms of development. He has signed a longer term contract and like Alzate, will return a better player.

Not a bad move for me. I really rate JS but we are pretty stacked in his position at the moment and some valuable game time elsewhere to gain fitness and experience will do him, and us good.

Shame he got injured when he did, looking forward to seeing how he does, i am sure he will be great for them.

Thought he would have gone to a top-flight club abroad, so a little surprised by this.
Why? He’s made 14 professional appearances in 2 years. A lot of potential but pretty much no first team football experience

Good move for the lad, seems perfect all round. I assume a fee is involved too.

Didn’t de Zerbi say the other day that he would like him to spend a season either playing in Germany or in Spain
