The destroying of property as an expression of anger for the death of a community member I can understand (I feel like I need to make the point that understanding is not condoning it).

The looting is opportunistic scumbags using the shooting for their own selfish gain. A sad bi product of riots like these. In this case Inexplicably used by some to shift the focus away from a policeman shooting a 17 year old dead.

Then we have people giving money to the policeman that shot a 17 year old child dead during a traffic stop. (Maybe I have this wrong was it not the same policeman they were giving money to?).

I have a vague understanding of why the first two may happen (totally over simplified of course) but I have no clue of the reasons someone would donate money to the murderer of a 17 year old child. I really don’t understand why, in the US too, that a driver hitting the pedal can be shot dead for basically running away?

I believe in law and order, perhaps more strongly ie to the right than many. The kid just drove away though, yes? There’s no suggestion he endangered the officer or was a threat to that I’ve read.

Therefore the book needs to be thrown at the officer. And I agree, the opportunistic looters who are using this incident as a reason to riot…well, if a few of them were shot I’d not have too much sympathy for them. so let me get you right here, failing to stop and avoiding the police (we do not know the whole story yet, ie has the car a record, area, history etc etc) is not right, and quite rightly.
