I don't know - TB got pretty arsey with Ashworth leaving, didn't he?

Not really, just stuck to the terms of the contract, there was a Gardening Leave clause in there for a reason, he had commercially sensitive information.

Sounds like a done deal to me.
Even timing of announcement seems to have been agreed.
We must have known this was coming a while back so I expect we’ll have our own plans in place.

Still in Brighton
I am still hopeful he stays, if Chelsea make him an offer he likes, he will still need to evaluate whether he trusts what he is being told, can work with certain individuals, and is trusted to boot out any mentally wronguns that may inhabit the dressing room, even if they are top talents.
When Tony makes his counter offer, he will not be wondering if he is full of shit.

Could be a quick turnaround for Aubameyang then!

That will be why the club took the team photo on the Pitch this morning.
PB and TB will have been aware that Potter is fancied by others and may have to replace him, and have some ideas of who they would like, but other than that, this is out of the blue.

It's almost as if we got £63m for Cucu, plus Colwill as a sweetener with this approach in mind.

If true this is an incredibly ruthless way to sack a manager:

It is from the Sun though

Chelsea's now former manager unknowingly arrived at the club's Cobham training ground on Wednesday morning for a post-mortem of the Blues' nightmare trip to Croatia.

However, no one was there to greet him and Tuchel was instead ordered to attend a conference call with his superiors. During the 10-minute call, the under-fire gaffer is said to have pleaded to keep his job, but Boehly and Co. had already made up their minds and Tuchel was told to pack his things.

I trust the club to appoint a successor who can continue the work started by Potter. Their succession planning has worked well thus far.

Christ, when I cheered his fist pump after the game on Sunday I never thought for a moment it'd be goodbye.

Pretty much how it happens in banking in my experience. No point trying to soften things up or pretend once the decision has been made. 10 mins would be quite a long meeting.

Jesus, this is awful. I can’t remember ever feeling so rotten about a (potential) managerial departure. I know it sounds a bit hyperbolic but I’m not far off bereft here.

It’s the hope that kills you.

I know how you feel mate. We're all the same. But my Mum always says - nothing in life stays the same for
long. Be positive about the future.

Just seen someone very close to a current player who said all the chat between the players is they expect him to be gone. £16M for Potter and £1M for each member of coaching staff he takes

Hopefully doesn’t affect the prep for Saturday to much …
