Why are so many people in this country obsessed about celebrities - most of whom are as thick-as-***?
Are their own lives so dull and empty that they are more interested in the lives of celebrities? If so, they really do need to 'get a life' of their own!
How much more can Britain dumb-down - we really are becoming a country of saddoes and thickoes.

Many years back I dated a lady who worked as a journalist, and I remember learning back then that 99% of anything you read about a celeb is done via their PR agency. The most common stunt belongs to a type where the celeb in question seem the victim of something, or has been ‘caught out’. The classic is often the ‘caught shopping’ where celeb X is ambushed by naughty paps as he/she tries to do some simple shopping. Except her PR team called the desks an hour or so ahead and gave the press the details of where they would be.
Before we went our separate ways she mentioned how S Club (yes, that long ago) were going to split up as certain members had sensed that they needed to get out sooner rather than later. She advised me to keep my eyes open for some sort of scandal which would given certain members some sort of notoriety, the purpose being to make them distinct from the band. Lo and behold a couple of them were caught smoking weed a few months later.
More recently Myleene Klaas played a similar gambit when going to the press about being warned by police after an incident where she claims she had intruders at her home. The police turned up and, rather than catch the miscreants instead warned her about brandishing the knife in question. An outrage Myleene courted the papers and sofas with the media consoling her and wagging their collective fingers at the police. "For shame" they cried in unison. The police deny any of this happening, but Myleene got the exposure she needed.
It doesn’t stop there, the pre-reality tv shows involving celebs being coached, each following their PR team’s advice. There are stories of celebs signing diet book deals even before they head into the jungle or BB set, they make sure they eat loads and fatten up so the weight loss is even more noticeable. The result? "Look at me- I lost X lbs and you can too..."
You are probably wondering what this has to do with Zoella and co, well, the point I am trying to make is that there is normally something behind this kind of press release. It might be to drum up some extra exposure, or justify them leaving the area in the near future (I see someone has made a very good point about this on the Argus’ article). Moaning about being too popular is a brilliant way of attracting more fans or giving a bit of a smokescreen. Bearing in mind that Zoella’s audience are young teenagers perhaps she’s realised that her time will soon be up as she’ll simply be too old to appeal anymore? I’m sure her PR team will have anticipated this, it might even be part of it.

My heart goes out to them. What a hard life they must lead cosied up in their five bedroom house earning hundreds of thousands of pounds a year churning out absolute DROSS on YouTube to appeal to their thousands of pre-adolescent fans who would watch anything with bright colours and funny noises so long as their friends do too. The content is shit and brainless, and probably unoriginal in many cases (a similar youtuber was found to be telling jokes by real comedians on her channel as part of her videos).
