I have this on extremely good authority that back in the summer Zamora was on the verge of returning to us on loan for the season if West Ham had signed Benni McCarthy.

He has subsequently turned down a loan offer elsewhere in this division on the basis that he still wants to return here.

Watch out for West Ham signing another striker in the window, as that could be the queue for him to be back here. If we make the move, he is DEFINITELY up for coming back.

I hope you're right. :)

If we do loan him though, how are we ever going to afford to make it permanent?

Would we want him now?

We're building a decent team of our own players. Why disrupt the progress of Leon & Jake (and hopefully Federico), to get in another player for half a season?

Don't be thick, I'd have him back in an instant.

Leon and Bobby up top? Yes please.

... because West Ham clearly do not rate him, and he wants to come back and play for us again. Sounds like a deal that would not be too expensive to make permanent one day.

Would he be able to get ahead of McCammon in the pecking order though?

My 'source' is not connected to the Albion, so no, I doubt it is anything Race (or Tank) would know about.

Sorry just can't see why he'd choose us ahead of Reading for instance, unless Coppell doesn't want him anymore. Please don't tell me it's because he loves us
