I think once a new manager is in place and if Bobby is not seen as a regular squad player in the short term, he will go on loan to a first division club. Ipswich and Nottingham Forrest are supposed to be interested, but are awaiting the new managerial appointment.

He won't drop back to the second division however much I'd like to see him on loan with us.

Didn't think so at first but I'm beginning to agree with that now.

As for the U-21s, I've made a point of watching all the games he's featured in and, to be honest, he's made very little impact in any of them.

Bobby Zamora = Load of shit who got lucky with us for a couple of years.

Very harsh. He has got talent but it needs to develop. Unfortunately because of injury he didn't get as much experience as he would have liked in the first division.

Owen was very injury prone when he started out but he has grown and matured and became a great player.

If Bobby is given the chance and the right manager he will do the same

I feel a little guilty starting this thread - it was never meant to encourage anyone to slag of one of the best players to have played for us for a while.

Why are fans so fickle ?

Shall we erase from our memories the last to promotions that BZ contributed so much to.

You're not kidding Beachy. I think these fans you refer to are unfulfilled rather than fickle. Perhaps it's a "you were great with us, but you'll never be anybody elsewhere" syndrome.

I'm not actually slagging him off, but find it a real shame he's gone to Spurs. Hoddle would (and did) give him a chance whereas Pleat won't. I am sure he'll be sold come next season to a low Premiership side/high 1st division side.

Bets on West Ham his childhood club anyone?

The fact that Zamora was 'ours' and easily the best player we'd had in a generation has colored our vision of him. As somebody else has pointed out Peter Ward was an absolute legend for us but when he went to Forest he basically sunk without trace. This was even stranger than Zamora because Ward was at least playing and scoring in the top division before he moved to a 'big' club.

I still think Zamora can play in the Prem but it is a case of two steps forward and one back - and I'll always think of him with affection because of what he achieved with us, even if it did go a bit sour at the end.

Do feel sorry for the guy but think he went to the wrong club. He'd have been much better off going to Leicester as MA would have helped him develope. I've always thought that he may have been better off staying with us till the january transfer window - could've scored shit loads of goals and be a confident playing moving up the divisions.

I think it was because he got injured so early in the season last year and then wasn't snapped up in the January transfer window that his attitude changed.

He's probably having to do some attitude adjusting now which won't be easy.

If he is determined to overcome that and show how good he is, he will emerge to be a great talent.

If he sulks because it hasn't happened for him and blames the change in management then he'll disappear, and re-emerge somewhere in the lower divisions on loan.

I still think of him with great affection and I want him to do well. I would love him to go to West Ham or Leicester.

As long as he doesn't end up at Palace or Cardiff.

Funny to see Palace conceding yet another last minute goal. I hear "St Tropez" Jordan had a long meeting on the pitch with Kember after the latest defeat.

Another manager on the way soon then as Tango Man throws his toys out of the pram again.

Promotion, my arse.

peter ward got most of his goal in the top divisions, where as zammo has not cut the mustard yet.
