One of my teachers at school was from Zambia, so I was pleased to see them win.

A team full of millionaire premier league players couldn't overcome a team made up 90% of players from African leagues, and only one from a European league, if Switzerland counts as Europe.

Normally I'm an avid watcher of the African Cup of Nations. This time round however I saw next to nothing of it. I did see most of the final though, including all the penalties. So pleased for Zambia, especially as it was Ivory Coast that they beat.
Serious question - I wonder how many European clubs will now have their eyes on Kennedy Mweene ? Had a magnificent game in goal yesterday. Captains his club team as well as Zambia sometimes and seems to ooze confidence. Can play it out nicely from the back too without having to resort to hoof ball all the time he's under pressure. Very calm when he took his penalty too.
