Yeah, bring back the terraces, they have them in Germany with absolutely no problems whatsoever. Most grounds it is almost impossible to sit comfortably if you are over 6ft tall, as I am, my knees are usually digging into the seat in front of me, at least you don't get that problem on a terrace.

How would i know?I'm pissed.
And rucking is much easier on a terrace than in a seated area....;)

These threads come up almost on a weekly occurance on NSC, end of the day terraces are never going to be allowed at football grounds in this country, try telling the familys of the 96 who died at hillsborough that terracing is coming back.
Football wether we like it or not is now a family game where the most important customer is the corporate one, and standing just doesn't go with this image the bigger clubs are trying to portray to attract new lucrative sponsors.

excuse me if i sound ignorant (and not wanting to make light of the event) but, was the terracing directly responsible for the hillsborough disaster? the fencing at the front of the terrace stoping fans from escaping on to the pitch and the complete lack of organisation at the gates were surely more of a problem?

there were lots of reasons why hillsborough happenned and the reasons you said did contribute to it, however its not worth getting into that, the point is it is ridiculous by saying bring back terraces, it is like saying bring back wooden stands.

Maybe terraces for season ticket holders only, that way you would know how many fans are in that section.

I think everyone would love to see terraces return but it simply isn't going to happen, sure its great and a good laugh to be with your mates on a terrace but for the reasons detailed in my earlier post is simply won't happen.

What you are forgetting is that there are plenty of terracing still in existence. If it is safe at these places it is safe anywhere. How can it be safe for Cardiff to have terraces now, but for it to suddenly be unsafe next year.

It was the Hikers Rest lot singing that, making a rare appearance as Sussex Police didn't come up (I think)

they all left early too and one of them got pinched outside for starting trouble - on a scarfer with his young son, naturally

If you're trying to imply that I'm a non-regular then your having a laugh mate, we normally go to every away game but at this moment in time we can't afford it, money situation. If you got a problem with that then say so!
