Gareth you are a wind up merchant, your team would finish mid table in League 1.

Hart and Mayo were crap last season and have a mountain to climb to convince McGhee once he has a full squad to choose from. What they were 2 seasons ago is history and though they are both legends, their time is run. Nicolas WILL replace Charlie who will be a squad player this season, injuries permitting.

Kuipers is good but Roberts was rated in the top 5 keepers in the country when he was at Middlesborough. Goalkeepers get better as they get older.

I have the utmost faith in my boys. They would not let me down. I think at least a play off spot beckons.

Mayo is in FAR better form than Harding - despite what Peter Taylor says.

GK - Kuipers

LB - Mayo
CB - Cullip
CB - Butters (but these two need to sort themselves out.)
RB - Virgo

RM - Hart
CM - Carpenter
CM - Nicolas
LM - Jarrett

CF - Molango
CF - Knight

Subs: El-Abd, Jones, Robinson, Hinshelwood, Roberts

Not sure I agree that Mayo is the better choice. On Tuesday, it was two stupid mistakes by Mayo that led to the errors that resulted in Harding's fouls and his early bath. Most of the time Mayo is a liability that we can't afford. sadly, he looks slow, ponderous and unfit at the moment.

Mainly because he was playing out of position on Tuesday. Yesterday, he was solid and dependable, and very far from being a liability. He was sure in the tackle and definitley NOT ponderous. (That award goes to Butters yesterday.) His boot went through the middle of the ball, and I don't recall him mistakenly hoofing it into touch once. In fact, he was the best of the back four; the other three had very mediocre games.

On current form Mayo is better than Harding, who IS looking ponderous and unsure. At present, it's Mayo for me. Harding's challenge is to prove otherwise, although I suspect Harding is the first choice in McGhee's eyes.

Having realised how stupid you looked - this is a rather pathetic attempt at making it sound like it was a joke all along !!! :jester:

Going from what I've heard:

GK. Kuipers (on present form)

RB. Virgo
LB. Harding (you don't drop a new young player after 2 bad games - he shouldn't be made afraid to make a mistake)
CD. Cullip
CD. Butters

RM. Hart (sounds like Currie isn't doing a great job protecting Virgo)
CM. Nicholas
CM. Chippy
LM. Jarrett (seems to be learning & looks good)

CF. Knight
CF. Molango

I can't believe people are seriously suggesting Jones as our strongest left back. He's so prone to going walkabout it would be disastrous. After Saturday it has to be Mayo on current form.
Don't think Cullip/Butters is the answer at this level. Need a quicker player next to them. I'd drop Cullip and play Virgo at centre back, put someone in at right back who's better when going forward.
