Take a test to see if you are on the aspergers/autism spectrum. I did, 6 months ago (on Mrs T's prompting). I scored 27/32. 'Not on the spectrum' are scores from 0-8

Not sure what to do about this 'news' to be honest. It explains.....everything. But it isn't something that can be rinsed away, it seems.

Mr. Tackle, you're into all this SJW stuff, do you think these tests can be manipulated just so that people can think they scored "low" on the autistic spectrum, when actually they scored 6 points below maximum? Just curious.

I'm only 7 questions in (out of of 50) and I already know I'm going to get certified based on the questions so far. No doubt.

Final tally.
"Your score was 19 out of a possible 50.

Scores in the 0-25 range indicate few or no Autistic traits

Don't be too disheartened. Only five questions wrong out of 32 is pretty good going. I'd be quite pleased with that score. You obviously set yourself very exacting standards.

Grammer, spelling, vocabulary and apostrophe's policing. Hint: Forth is a bloody bridge, not a number. Disinterested does NOT mean not interested. Could/Should/Must HAVE. Not OF. HAVE!!!
Travel, places and food, especially in Asia.
GOOD '60's music (a lot was and a lot wasnt)

Better re-think the first two ..

I could challenge you on those, I reckon. Not so much the music one but certainly the others :)

Aside from that, my interests are wide but shallow, making me more of a pub quiz aficionado than Mastermind. I do know a fair bit about the Simpsons (seasons 1-15-ish) and UK hip hop circa 2000. Although I'm a little rusty, my grasp of the Vietnamese language is probably better than that of most on NSC.

Interesting test........my last boss was almost certainly on the spectrum which made dealing with him quite difficult (or more ‘awkward’ perhaps).

I could probably match you there - I have them all on a shelf behind me. I wanted to do the Life and Plays of Brecht as my specialist subject on Mastermind, but they wouldn't let me as it had already been done

Willing to concede! My degree was in the early to mid 70s.

He’s still a hero, though.

Love it, and know quite a bit about it, but would not describe it as the grape I know most about.

:bowdown::bowdown:

My wife’s family has a connection with Alsace through a pen friend link in the 1950s. When we were first married we visited and happened to be there for the golden wedding celebrations in the late 70s of our hosts parents, who were winemakers. A glorious August afternoon where they were rolling out all their prize winners. Never forgotten it and have always had a weakness for the wines of Alsace ever since. Our hostess, Mrs DiS’s older sister’s pen friend held up Pinot Gris as her favourite.

I got to question 7, "I am fascinated by dates." I started to ask myself, do they mean dates you eat?, dates where you go out to dinner with someone? or dates on a calendar? That kind of told me everything I needed to know about myself.

1. Sounding like I know what I am talking about, when I don't

2. Rapid googling of quotes and facts to help win arguments on the internet*

Over the years, I've worked with quite a few people on the spectrum, and found that any 'awkwardness' can be overcome as you learn how to interact with that particular person. But it does take a bit more time to build that relationship as you change your approach to suit.

I scored 14 and don't really have any specialist subject

I found either pandering to his OCD-like tendencies, or alternatively launching into a full-on disagreement worked best, he reacted to either well - we got on fine but I know a lot of my team had significant issues with his management style/approach.

Likewise - scored 11, specialist stuff would be work-related, other than that not a lot really. :nono:
