I would suggest that for some petty offences, it should be compulsory to attend certain social events, such as any Southampton or Man united home game. Force the buggers to use and pay for the train themselves too to get there on bus replacement days.

I applaud a more imaginative approach to sentencing. I guess if someone was GPS tagged and knew they would go back to prison if they went to the pub it could work.

The mandatory work part of it makes sense as well. Obviously tough to place them though
