Just a bit of fun, I was reading a post about Graeme Smith and it made me wonder everyone's opinion on the worst set of players to don the stripes? I think they'll differ greatly from person to person.

For me,
GK Graeme Smith
RB Gavin Hoyte
LB Jamie Campbell
CB Colin Hawkins
CB Adam Hinshelwood (for THAT own goal)
RM Sebastien Carole
CM Geoff Pitcher
CM Andy Arnott
LM Kevin McLeod
FW Maheta Molango
FW Fran Sandaza

Wonderful, in their own ways. I forget the name of the chap who scored 2 own goals at Brentford in 1997/1998, he was a centre back whose career here lasted just that game I think?

Glen Thomas. That performance at Brentford was the worst I've ever seen by any footballer anywhere!

Surely there's a special place for Silky Dave Cameron?

Not many players get substituted after twenty minutes and publicly labelled "useless" by the manager.

Some of the players listed are just utter shit, nothing comedy about them at all. In fact, one or two of them just piss me off- Kevin McLeod would be one. Had ability but just seemed too overweight and indifferent. Molango had so little impact, Reading goal aside, I can't bring myself to care one way or the other about him.

Comedy ones are just players who were so bad they were laughable. The ones who actually try, and are still terrible, like the kid at school who was always picked last for PE. Glen Thomas (the Brentford game!), Graeme Smith, Cameron, I'd probably include Danny Webb too for the way he always tried to make it look like he was jumping to win the ball, when in fact he was just doing it for effect.

It always ASTOUNDED me that Hoyte had been schooled at Arsenal, him and Joe O'Ceauruill (sp?). Then again, Arsenal never used to bring through their own youngsters, they'd just ignore them and pick up young lads from Africa, Belgium, Switzerland and other English teams.

I tell you what, if we're talking comedy players, how about Andy Kennedy? As much for his off field endeavours as his on field ones.

You've forgotten Ashley Neal.

In fact, most of the players from that 97/98 squad (first season at Gillingham) - with a few notable exceptions. Surely the worst Albion team in living memory?

god there are far worse than the ones who have been mentioned.

Nicky Bissett was thew biggest pile of shit i ever saw. A f***ing elephant of a footballer with no ability whatsoever. Mick ferguson - shocking! Kevin Bremner - although wasnt the worst, spend most of his time on the floor.
I used to know Martin Lambert very well too - Carthorse!!!! lol I hope he reads that too!! Justice(private joke) Mind you, he had some birds!!

Kieran O'Regan was a great player! One of my favourtie players at the time. He was also a full Irish international, so he can't have been that sh*t! (how many internationals have we actually had...?!)

Any worst Albion XI MUST, by default, include Richard sodding Tiltman.

Crumplin must get in there if we're talking comedy footballers, although he did eventually come good.
