I was at Anfield, and Newcastle, and of course Wembley 83 x 2
But nothing has ever come close to the elation of surviving Hereford
The relief made it the best ever moment...and the journey back was pretty special too

West, West, West Sussex.
I wasn't at any of them (I'm jealous) but:

Liverpool 83 FA Cup
Sheff Wednesday 83 semi. remember listening to it on radio and watching highlights in the evening like it was yesterday.
Newcastle 79. As a five year old I don't remember the game just the open top bus parade to celebrate.

Over years have prob only been to 30 plus away games. 2 that stand out were Palace away when we were outplayed for 90mins and Ward scored winner in injury time. Another I will never forget going back a long time in FA cup Think it was Palace again and after drawing home and away, 2nd replay at Stanford Bridge. I think we lost but turned up 10min before kick off and had a job to get in. Attendance I think was I think 60,000.

Ipswich November 1990 freezing (only wore my Albion shirt) good job we won 3-1,first time i'd seen us win away from home and the stand was physically bouncing (thought it might collapse) under the weight of fans jumping up and down.........

Cardiff 2004 & Hereford tops.....Anfield and Old Trafford special but Ipswich 1990 will always stand out in my mind.

Peterborough away a few years ago when we won 3-0 in the league one champions season. We absolutely battered them and could of been 8-0 easy. Great noise as well in the old terrace

Too much riding on the Hereford game to enjoy.

Semi final at Highbury for me.

Has to be Newcastle 79 - nothing will ever beat that feeling although Anfield 83 was not a bad second. The excitement of the long coach up overnight. The majority of locals who wanted us to win as it kept Sunderland down, a match we never looked like losing and the euphoria at the final whistle. Even yesterday, when singing along to 'We are Brighton' brought back memories of that day.

I don't see how anyone can really describe Hereford as a best away 'day'. The outcome may have been great but nobody can really have enjoyed the whole day including the game. The week leading up to the game was nervous, the drive to Hereford more so, the game probably one of the least enjoyable matches ever given what was at stake and then at the final whistle definitely more relief than anything else.

I agree 100% except I hired a Mk 1 Escort estate from Railway Garage in Worthing and drove up with a car full.

So many! However Millennium Stadium v Bristol City has been the best away day by far despite quite poor game! Also enjoyed our 4-0 vs Charlton on 2010 as well as Nathan Jones first managerial win at Fulham last year!
