My one man crusade? lol....get a grip of yourself .. this is the first time, ive ever started a thread about these doughnuts, and Im certinaly not the only person on this thread that considers the UKIP a bit of a bunch of far right racists and bigots..

Of course you've a right to an opinion but as I've pointed out, it's from a position of ignorance using your very own criteria. But to claim that this affects you because UKIP have MEPs and you live in the other end of Europe - about as tenuous as me telling Alex Salmond that my views are just as important as his when it comes to Scottish Independence.

And of course it's a load of scollobs that you get involved in this Anti-UKIP crusade because you're a good European. There must be half a dozen openly extremist far-right parties with Euro ambition right on your very doorstep - the biggest being Jobbik, a near neighbour in Hungary. I bet my mortgage that you don't spend even a tenth as much energy reading about/ writing about/ saving the internet from Europe's most successful far-right party right now. You save all that for UKIP, not because you're the good European but because you're obsessed.

And if you're serious about trying to stop them from being elected then the worst thing you could probably do is to laugh at them and their supporters. You need to engage with the people who are voting for them - find out what appeals, why they're rejecting the established parties, offer them an alternative. That's 'dealing with it'.

Do you honestly think that some bloke from Prague telling people they're thick and racist is ever going to change anyone's mind about voting UKIP? Arrogant fool.

UKIP have been ahead of the LibDems in the opinion polls for the last couple of years as the 3rd Party in British politics. You have to be very foolish if you think they're just picking up the protest vote that formerly went to the BNP.

I'm sorry, but realistically they're not. Opinion polls from the media may tell us one thing, but they don't have an MP in Westminster, nor do they control any local councils in the UK. Until they establish themselves in local politics and show themselves trustworthy in politics, they are really a side show, a legitimate protest vote for those wishing to exit Europe and kerb immigration.

Yes, they are politically important and the main parties need to deal with the issues that they represent rather than smear and name call, but politically at least, they really aren't the 3rd party in British Politics.

The Greens are bigger than Labour and the Lib Dems, not to mention the Tories, in my part of the country. Whereas UKIP are an irrelevance, as are the Lib Dems. These features help make Brighton one of the most exciting cities to live in in the country.

Erm...in your part of the country UKIP have 2 MEPs in compared to 1 Green MEP. Clearly not an irrelevance although I do appreciate that UKIP's high profile in Southern England does upset certain NSC posters, so much so that some are even in denial.

Exactly the same was said about the Labour Party in the 1900's , a protest vote for the working class with no MPs.

It doesn't alter my point about where they stand right now though. Either you believe they are an emerging party like Labour in the early 1900's, or you believe they are currently the 3rd Party in British politics. You appear to be contradicting your earlier statement in making this comparison.

They are an emerging party and the LibDems are on the wane which will be borne out after next years general election. UKIP still wont have a MP at Westminster in 2015 but the LibDems could be reduced to a handful of MPs.

I genuinely don't understand why you think ALL UKIP canddiates are racist bigots. It just is not the case. You have a bee in your bonnet. There are awful candidates in all the parties but this doesn't make all the candidates racist.

Of course neither are all Labour candidates paedophiles or have a history of liaising with the Paedophile Information Exchange. It is because of UKIP's robust attitude to the EU and immigration that they are picking up support, running alongside peoples disgust with the old gang parties and many people share these concerns, whether Guardian reading metropolitan champagne socialists like it or not. There's my own contribution to the political stereotyping game!
