Yet another Falmer/Prescott viewpoint

In another dissussion i posted about a front page Times headline about the government in particular John Prescotts office pushing plans so that local councils can find the whole process of passing through planning decisions easier, and getting rid of NIMBYism. I couldn't quite remember what it was all about, well there was an interesting piece in the comment section in yesterdays Times under the headline "NOT IN MY BACK YARD? THINK AGAIN, MR PRESCOTT HAS PLANS TO BUILD ALL OVER IT". Although the piece wasn't particularly possitive for our point of view, it did outline the fact that Prescott is very much in favour of regenerative building schemes. The bill being tabled is the planning and compulsory purchase bill which will "override the taditional power of local authorities to grant or withhold planning permissions through a process of compramise and consultation". The artical also states that basically councils will be offered sweeteners and bought to book if they do not hit house building targets, this is also good news for our plan seeing as the house building plan was also rubbished by Mr Charlse Hoille, it goes on to say that ministers are frustrated that local authorities have often limited development. I know that this bill probably will not affect what is happening with us at the moment, but i thought that it was an interseting and possitive view of the Mr Prescotts thought process on these matters.

Sorry if this is all a bit wafflely, dry and dusty.

All the NIMBYs should go to Luton. That really is the definition of a stadium in your back yard. I couldn't believe it when I saw it...
