I think Fab's preferred starting central midfield is Carlos and Jack.
When Jack has to move to fullback to cover, Ayari is next choice to fill in because as you say he will keep going for longer.
I agree at the moment Weiffer and Gomez are seen as the finishers, which I think is ok.

It's very much a squad game......club have done brilliantly to give Fab so many options.

Minteh first three didn’t get past the first man. Ayari were better - bar the rather comical in the 2nd half that looked like it was lifted in using a 9 iron that ended up with him air kicking it when it got sent back into the box.

Ayari is great - a quietly effective player. Can run all day and I would start him in the majority of the games myself. There will be some horses for courses type scenarios but anytime he has a fully tanked engine I’d start him, he also has a good understanding with Baleba on where each is and needs to be when defending.

This actually looked planned, went to a completely free man who didn't move and the Fulham players didn't know who to mark. . The ball back in was poor though.

Ayari has vastly exceeded expectations and had a very good breakout season. Milner getting inured was wholly positive.

He deserves to be playing, but does he deserve to be playing, over Hinshelwood and Gomez and Wieffer? I'm not so sure

Ayari is a very decent and intelligent midfielder. he comes from the same mould as Jack Hinshelwood.
Neither of them are flash, neither of them have the need to commit crunching tackles or make 50 metre raking passes.

They both keep possession of the ball, they both track their opponents defensively and are always available as an outlet for their team mates.
And they both would benefit from a MOTD or Sky analysis of the important stuff they do in a game for the side.

Both of them are very impressive young footballers who have big careers ahead of them.
I don't envy Fab's challenge of getting all our midfielders enough minutes.

Moder and Gilmour were both great in their own ways for us. But you can now see why they were disposable with Gomez and Wieffer banging so hard on the door for a start.

Milner I'm writing off, and Yalcouye I expect will go out on loan again next season - I'm sure he could use a bit more conditioning in a league more challenging than Austria's top flight. Which just leaves O'Riley.

I think FH sees him as an extra No.10. But he has started playing Gruda there too (when JP & Georginio aren’t doing it) so the competition is extreme for that position. He might find himself on loan too next season, especially if Facu is coming home.

Gruda should go out on loan and would send Facu out on loan as well , both still need to be stronger physically

Yalcouye is doing great, and is young enough that he has time to spend a year on loan to The Championship to get up to the speed and intensity of football in England. Same for O'Riley really, though that might be seen as more problematical because he is substantially older - and cost a lot more.

He's been really good and probably performed either accordingly or above what will be his career average. But we have a lot of talent and competition in that role, so to sell him for £30-40m this summer would allow a nice transition into that without becoming overcrowded. Could see us cash in on the success. Not like he'd mind playing for Milan either. Bundesliga more doubtful.

Agreed and indeed in my view he's the most likely midfielder to be sold this summer. He's not obviously superior to our other options and cost less to sign than anyone else in central midfield - except Jack of course - so we're certain to book a healthy profit.

I guess it depends on how much he wants that PL record and how willing we are to give it to him.

Id be reluctant to let this lad go. The strides he has made this season alone are incredible. He is only going to get stronger and more experienced. Not for sale as far I am concerned.
