My view is that Ayari, Alzate, Moder and Kozlowski are in competition for 2 midfield places in the squad - with Kozlowski very likely to be loaned out again. Roberto will be deciding fairly soon.

Our squad is getting very swollen, especially in midfield and attacking midfield. Very swollen.

I believe this boy (and maybe another one or two) will be loaned out. I genuinely believe that we’ll be replacing Caicedo with a specialist DM and potentially landing Kudus who can play AM.

So, with Alzate, Gilmour, Groß, Lallana, Moder, Dahoud plus a couple more; the likes of Kozlowski, Ayari, Moran, Leonard and maybe Buonanotte might find better opportunities on loan.
It makes one wonder why we brought Steven Alzate back, Moder though l don't know if anyone really knows if we will sede him this season, if indeed at all. Very sad.

Ayari though got a fair number of minutes at the tail end of last season, and l quite liked what l saw, so l hope he gets a squad number.

So DeZerbi can gave a proper look at him ?
Exactly, nobody is saying he gets a place in the squad but given his skillset, and his reasonably successful loan, of course RDZ is going to want a close look at him over the summer.

Moder has been out so long and had setback after setback. Unfortunately I doubt we’ll see him near his best again. Yes, players recover from long term injuries but how many recover from so many additional setbacks over that time?

Feels a bit too much like Izquierdo.

I agree with the poster above otherwise - feels like a shootout between Ayari, Alzate and Kozlowski for one or two squad spaces. Maybe Weir might get an opportunity or two in preseason as well.

I think thats more likely than Ayari or Alzate but nobody really knows a) if RDZ rates him/fits into his style of play/fills the gaps he needs b) if he's recovered from his injury. Anyway - its just speculation on my part. There has been reporting though that Alzate is likely to be part of the group.
Yes. I'm pleased it'll be RDZ making these decisions as opposed to me or anyone else on NSC.

Weir is an interesting one. Always really impressed with him and certainly looked a level above the kids. There's a tendency to go 'player A and B had minutes last season so are more likely to play than players Y and Z'. Examples would be Peupion and Ayari. The reason they played was because they were the only available player (CP) and because we signed them in January (YA). See no reason why players like Weir and Turns don't have as good a chance of being in and around the first team (beyond the fact we always tend to rate British youngsters less). The only youngster I'd argue is a shoe in is Enciso. Wouldn't be surprised at all if anyone else went on loan or any of the loanees from last season didn't.
Definitely going to be a very interesting Summer.

Alzate seems to be featuring a lot in the videos of training that the club has released. Is that a pointer for the future?

Well I got that one wrong, in that Ayari is not ready for the first team. I thought he would be.

I remember reading that he had a very good awareness of players around him and liked to dominate midfield.

As long as he gets plenty of game time, he should do continue to develop at Coventry.

Great move for him and all but confirms that Baleba and maybe Diaz will be singing imminently.

I'll be keeping a close eye on Ayari's progress.

From what little I’ve seen of him he looks much too lightweight for the PL. Not vaguely impressed yet. He will toughen up with game time in the Championship

Twice in a minute 😃.
Agree, I wonder whether this will be one those that doesn’t quite make the grade with us.

Good luck to him though.
