If they say they've heard it from multiple sources, then they have. That he is being scouted doesn't need to mean too much though.

Good, talented player. Would compare him with Alzate in playing style. Like 99% of Swedish players moving abroad he's not yet good enough for the PL though and would surely go on loan for 1-2 seasons if he was signed.

Shouldn't cost more than £2-3m so its certainly realistic in that way.
Bit worrying that there seems to be murmurs that he's straight in the first team squad.

Are we broke ?

Surprising development to now be paying for transfers with SEKs

Exciting. Hopefully the wonderkid next.
@Swansman can you compare him to a player we'd have seen more of?
Steven Alzate. Good technique, reads the game well, can play in multiple positions (though DMC/CM is probably his future as he doesn't have the pace to become a top class winger), not exactly spectacular but keeps the ball flowing.

To be honest, much though I admire Steven, was hoping to read ‘next Caicedo’ more than ‘next Alzate’
PS: We already have a 19 year old playing regularly as a CM in a European league - Kasper Koslowski. - he’s a regular starter now for Vitesse . Played 90 mins in their 2-2 draw v Ajax a few weeks ago.

Offer him to Chelsea now on a 20% discount to the 2024 fee. We'll take £50m.

He would be the 5th Swedish player to play for Brighton if he appears in a match. If you can name the others without looking them up you'd be a better man than me. Swanny should be able to smash this challenge though :)

Well that makes no sense. Alzate isn't good enough for us, Gilmour is his closest in the squad and he's isn't good enough. These players who aren't spectacular, but keep the ball flowing are just a waste of a place in the team.

Gilmour is 21 and has started a couple of games for us. Not all players arrive fully formed. Caicedo might well be PL ready at 20/21 - but Bissouma or MacAllister for example took time to adjust. Give him a chance! Anyway this fella is clearly not being signed to go straight into the first team is he… (I don’t think Caicedo is going anywhere in January but if he was then there would be significant incoming - this is a long term punt and not that player. . It’s not like Trossard where there are already multiple options.
