It does make me chuckle that every time someone posts a thread about XBox or PS3 the old debate kicks off again.

I personally have an XBox and my housemate has a PS3. We probably play on them equally as much and there is no reason one is better than the other

I think you can be impartial, but if you are your post will be:

a) ignored
b) replied to with "why bother replying to this thread, then"?
or
c) taken as partial by someone who ignores that you treated both sides equally, and attack you for your views that oppose their's, and treats you as the 'enemy'.

XBox is clearly far superior to PS3, it's better value for money, the graphics are better, more games, better online service and it looks pretty.

well SURELY nowadays you can get a good deal on a 360 AND a bluray DVD player for the cost of a PS3

that way you get STUNNING quality DOOVDs and excellent GAMING from the 360

Why bother getting a separate blu-ray player AND a state-of-the-art games console when you can have the two neatly combined into one ? Cuts down on unit clutter. Add in the fact that the PS3 is BLACK and SHINEY and therefore goes quite beautifully with my TV and stand, and its really a NO-BRAINER.

The PS3 blu-ray stands up to most stand-alone players as well in terms of spec. OK, I had to lash out an extra £16 on a remote (don't like using the controller), but as a package, the PS3/Blu-ray is a rock-solid 24 carat bona-fide WINNER for me.

I can readily accept that. I will however find a better console for playing GAMES.

The difference between the machines in terms of the quality of games is negligable. So miniscule as to make not a jot of difference either way. Its not like you're comparing a Sinclair Spectrum with a Commodore Amiga, now is it.

I've not had it long, but FIFA10, Wipeout HD, Tomb Raider Underworld and GTA4 have already convinced me that this is an IMMENSE gaming machine, and I am missing out on very little by having this instead of an X-Box.

And I'm sorry, but the inclusion of a built-in fully functioning top of the line blu-ray player really is a dealcloser as far as I'm concerned. It is the singlemost reason I bought it, and its inclusion on the PS3 is also the reason blu-ray SLAYED the inferior HD DVD platform.

The only problem is FIFA10 is stuck in there, the tray wont open and microsoft say to remove cd and hardware (the hard ware i've done) but what if i never see my FIFA 10 again
