Have I got this wrong, or doesn't that tweet just say that PSG, and only PSG, have an option that would get him for €6m?
Yes, that's how a buy-back clause generally works. If PSG offer €6m, PSV are obliged to accept it. This does not mean that the player will accept it however. He may well prefer not to go back to PSG to sit on the bench.

PSV are not obliged to accept €6m from anybody else. They can demand whatever price they feel they can get away with. Or a price high enough to scare other teams off (if they don't want to sell). Or no price at all and just say "not for sale". But if they accept, say €20m from some other team, they still have to give PSG the chance to offer €6m, which if PSG took up, then it would be up to the player who they want to go play for.

The point of buy back clauses, even if you don’t want the player, is to ensure some nice profit if they turn out to be a gem.

PSG buy him back for €6m and immediately sell him on for €50m. Job done.

That’s why everyone is asking to be informed, they’re wanting to buy him off PSG.

Our only hope would be that he is willing to take a more patient, having already been at 2 "super clubs". Maybe, just maybe, he'd rather go somewhere that he's more likely to get regular starts.

Or maybe he'll take the massive weekly pay on offer elsewhere.
Unfortunately . . . this.

Between this and Arda Güler having a £17m release clause there are some absolute bargains for wonderkids this window.

PSG have today exercised the buy back, are we still interested?

I suspect both PSG and the player have agreed his next move. Could be a loan or sale but he is surely not getting any minutes at PSG this season?
They’re saying it depends on if either Mbappe or Neymar leaves. If both stay, he’s going out on loan.

A €10m a year salary will have made the decision to leave PSV easier.
