Dodgy dodgy company!!!!!!!!!!!

I would be very afraid if I was a Wrexham fan. The UKLI, an associated company, have been in the news for all the wrong reasons. The land they sell does not have a high potetntial for planning, it is just farmland bought up on the basis that Prescott may allow some development on some greenfield sites in the future, possibly, maybe.

Many people have been tempeted to buy plots of land that have absolutely no hope of planning permission.

I wonder if the racecourse ground has a better chance of planning than some of the farm land that they have flogged up until now?

Still Somewhere in Sussex!
I agree with Jimmy Melias Girlfriend above!!

Hamilton - Property Developer, sells Wrexham FC to another Property Developer/Land Developement company

But unlike any of the other land that this second company has, this site is a prime one, and worth at least an estimated £10 Million quid!

And, what's the betting Hamilton also has a stake in this Company!! He said he would make some money out of Wrexham FC in any way possible.

Don't do it Wrexham :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono:,
find a consortium of true football fans to sell the club to!!

I don't wish to be contraversial, but this rule is in place for a reason. Everyone got annoyed when Leicester weren't punished for going into Admin, and no one will complain if Leeds do. So why should Wrexham get the ten points back?

We all support the Wrexham cause, but in the big picture it can't be one rule for some & another rule for others

I was joking Stumpy!! :p

Dragons rescue bid hinges on Hamilton Dec 7 2004

DAILY POST

By Mark Currie, Daily Post

ALEX Hamilton holds the key to the future of Wrexham FC, said the man in charge of the club's finances last night.

The Cheshire-based property developer must decide about the sale of his majority shareholding in the League One club together with the freehold of the Racecourse stadium.

Insolvency practitioner Steve Williams has been in charge at the Racecourse since the Dragons were placed in administration on Friday.

Last night he said he did not want to become involved in any negotiations between Mr Hamilton and bidders who have come forward since the High Court ruling.

Mr Hamilton said Surrey businessman Andrew Smith was in pole position to acquire his interests, but also confirmed the existence of what he said were serious and credible offers.

Yesterday, Mr Williams said: "As and when we have positive news in terms of a sale or of an agreement in principle, we will let people know."

Stressing his primary duty was to Wrexham's creditors, Mr Williams said the swiftest route to an exit from administration would be for Mr Hamilton either to inject cash or sell out.

He added: "A consensual deal, agreeable to Mr Hamilton and to the creditors, is the ideal solution, which means once a buyer has agreed terms with him, any offer to repay creditors either in full or a lesser amount will have to be decided by them."

Mr Williams said it was unlikely the current offers included previous bids.

But he made it clear his preferred option was a speedy sale, adding: "Alex Hamilton is the major shareholder and unless he consents to what is going on, there is no quick exit route."

Best guess scenario: a bidding war, or rather an artificial method to increase the price, which is what the plot-dividing game is all about. Buying up land dirt cheap and then selling it overpriced to the gullible.

Looks like good news to me
Dad and I were at their last match and the passion of these supporters is amazing. I just hope this Mr Smith is their saviour and not just gonna do another Hamilton and sell the ground for housing, with no ground to go to.

I do not like to make pre-judgements. The activities of the building plot scheme is not necessarily bad. It is both good and bad.

In the worst case scenario (which may be Bramber) the developer buys up a horse field on the edge of a village which is liable to flooding (I think I have some pictures somewhere) and then sells the land off to gullible investors at an inflated price.

Building houses on a flood plain is not only underwater homes, but there are subsidence problems and the concreting over can cause flooding elsewhere.

In the best case scenario, redundant and surplus farming land on the edge of an urban area, with good transport connections, is identified as land that has a best use of something else like a sports stadium. (Prescott has even said almost the exact same thing.)

There are two sides to the coin.

PS: Somebody is trying to sell and wooded nature reserve near Wrexham as a building development plot. I think this is Marston Wood or something (from memory). Woods are even cheaper than horse fields.

Dragons: Police quiz ex-director Dec 9 2004

By Carl Butler, Daily Post

DETECTIVES probing cash missing from debt-ridden Wrexham FC arrested its ex-commercial director.

Bill Wingrove was quizzed by police over the theft of gate money from the club's clash with Swindon Town.

Last night the 60-year-old, now boss of Shrewsbury Town FC, said he welcomed the police investigation as a chance to clear his name.

Mr Wingrove claimed he was on the verge of contacting officers over rumours at the Racecourse, when police rang and called him in.

Comment: They may have targetted the wrong man ? !

The main point is that the Police are investigating as well as the Inland Revenue and the Administrator, possibly?
