Couldn't we march straight off the sea-front on the 27th to the King&Queen? A wet Monday in September, can't imagine they'll have much on, apart from maybe some no-mark Premiership dross?

The problem with that is that many people don't like going out on a 'school' night and might not fancy it. I was thinking about maybe the 23rd, after Leeds at home.

That said, the 27th could be good from the point of view that all this will still be fresh in the mind and lots of people will be in the area.

Time for another poll, perhaps?

Count me in the 27th would be ideal for me since i will not have to convince my missies to let me out for another night of football and beer

Okay, just rang the King & Queen and Monday nights are "not a good night" for hiring the function room.

I s'pose we could just take over the downstairs but that would make it difficult to have any organised things in there and they might get shitty if we're going round with buckets.

Same night but the Albert, maybe?

Yep, keep going

Did you speak to Nicky there? She's the guv'nor.

She is a mad Gooner, but appreciates doing a footy bash. She has told me in the past that the capacity downstairs is 500. If you can GUARANTEE bringing 300 in, she close off downstairs and make it a private do - for free. She will also have no problem with the buckets being passed around.

You may want to try again, or I'll call if you like - she knows me... If we can 300 in, YOU can organise it Safeway. You'll enhance your NSC legend status, and be reasonably well-known on NSP as well. Any fundraiser for the Albion down there would probably free of charge for us to book.

Crabbers: the room was free for the quiz night (it was a fundraiser), but the NSC meet-up was £50. Which I still haven't paid yet.

Chappers & Trotty: Ha, ha. Well tucked up.:salute:

Go for it, Al, though I think 300 is probably a little optimistic. From the sounds of things, however, the K&Q would be the favoured location so why not. I spoke to a bloke but didn't get his name.

After work I popped into The Albert after work and mentioned Monday the 27th instead and they said that could be available. I've got to go in there again tomorrow and speak to the bloke who I did the booking for last Novembers meet-up through. I know they were more than happy with us last time, so if you don't get any joy with the K&Q it will be an adequate alternative. I believe it holds around 100, which should be ample if past experience is anything to go by.

And Alan, I'll ignore your facetious comments as this isn't really the time. All pulling in the same direction and all that.

Sounds good, would be happy to join in the drinking - I mean, fundraising - if those without Albion as their *first* team are welcome.

Is it going to be on the 27th? (I can't be bothered to read it all)

That will be an all day drinking session.

I am going to dress up as Batman.
