Done a Frexit, now in London
Poor ref and the linesman mincing up and down the east was equally poor.

My Dad never normally moans about the ref, no matter how bad I think their performance has been. Last night he was very critical of the ref falling for their theatrics and conning tactics. That tells me the ref was as shite as I thought he was.

There was one where we conceded a foul at one end for nothing, then almost immediately, Awoniyi barged into JPVH I think and sent him flying, not going for the ball, and the ref let it go.

Then another where off the ball one of our players was running to press, and a forest player (not the one in possession) stuck out his leg to trip up our guy. Ref gave a foul but not a yellow. So you can trip players off the ball now and it's not a booking? Hmm.
Absolutely this. A couple of other signs of a poor ref: when he erroneously gave us a corner in the first half I shouted that he would guaranteed give them a foul as soon as the ball came in which he dutifully did. The ball was definitely over the quadrant for their corner first half but you could pretty much see him say "just move it an inch so I don't look stupid now that I've come over" rather than have the courage of his convictions. Not to mention the terrible penalty decision. Poor.

Well if your dad was displeased, that’s it. Sorry people, I was wrong.

Well done on recognising the footballing knowledge of my old man. They should have him on Match of The Day, he's won as many FA Cups as Alan Shearer (he did actually play in the first qualifying round once in his younger days so I think it's a comparable stat).

One of their chances that went wide - on the replay it clearly came off Webster, yet neither commentator even mentioned that maybe it should have been a corner!

Proof of a literacy problem amongst NSC users or proof that people don't even bother reading posts before responding?
Doing this now so can't be accused of it being based on the scoreline.

How f***ing dire has this ref been today? Every little decision against us, tried to give a pen and got bailed out by his pals. Absolutely appalling.

Was the ref poor or just weak? He was continually conned into giving free kicks every time they went down and slapped the turf, failed to dish out obvious bookings and tried to award a penalty for a slip that was obvious from the west upper. ……….. actually he wasn’t poor or weak , just a normal performance by todays shit refereeing standards.

Or a normal performance by todays desire to cheat and dive.

Its tough to be a referee. Neither fans, managers, players or clubs wants to work for or promote fair games, but they demand fair referees.

The penalty incident was probably much more clear from an elevated position than it was on the ground.

A thread about refs are almost 100% mandatory after a loss and says absolutely nothing about the actual quality of the refereeing performance.
Tbf , the referee did not affect yesterday’s result, but there were a lot of very frustrating decisions. Just watching the PNE v Villa game now. Cash runs in front if the attacker, throws himself to the ground and “wins” a foul. I wish refs would just stop giving these “fouls” (Contact does not necessarily = foul).

Any other thing , balloons on the pitch! That needs to stamped down on.
