Will never forget a YouTube video I saw reviewing his movies - incredibly accurate.

“Steven Seagal, going fatly around corners”
Not forgetting the ' hand jive ' knife fight scene he seems to wedge into every film. Obviously needed something to rival Van Damme's ubiquitous ' doing the splits on a work top ' just to show you how flexible I am nonsense! :lolol:

I'd go with French actor Christopher Lambert's attempt at a Scottish accent while Sean Connery played an Egyptian with a Spanish name and a more Scottish accent than the supposed Scot.

Well that, or Dick van Dyke.

Sean Connery is awful in everything he ever did, including all the Bond films. One of those actors who seems to just turn up as himself (a la Ricky Gervais). Connery absolutely stole a living. Did he ever do any stage work?

Clive Owen and Sandra Bullock win those awards for me.

He’s the most wonder actor I’ve ever seen, and she spends every film shouting. It gets on my middle aged tits.

I’ve not been through the thread but surely Hayden Christensen has been mentioned but truly epic levels of shitness in Star Wars episodes II and III?

Yeah but you could include everyone from the 80's macho muscle / martial arts era. Jean Claude van-damme was hardly Daniel Day-Lewis in disguise. Schwarzenneger was famed for his dead pan lines and cheesy puns

Surely you have to try the accent, or I’ll also nominate Costner in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

It seems like Tom Hardy plays the same character in most of his films. I did like Bronson film, but I don't think it's any acting masterpiece. A lot of the pretty boy British actors I think are poor, like Orlando Bloom, Robert Pattinson is overrated. If you compare them to the likes of Anthony Hopkins and Ben Kingsley, Daniel Day-Lewis (Irish/Brit) It's night and day. Charlie Hunnam is poor as well, even in SOA which I liked I thought he was still poor in it.

My wife can't stand Al Pacino and thinks he's always himself.

It was funny (for me) when we watched a tv programme where he was proclaimed the best actor of all time.

Spotters badge accent wise for Don Cheadle in Ocean’s 11
That was Dick van Dyke levels of bad but without the charm.

I’d watched that movie half a dozen times before I realised where he was supposed to be from.

I was just about to say exactly this.

My god I loved that movie as a teenager but even then I wasn’t blind to just how awful Costner was. He couldn’t even be arsed to attempt an English accent so you’d have thought he’d have more time to devote to actual acting, but no.

“We’ll be dining with my father in Nottingham before nightfall!”*

*travelling on horseback from the coast of East Sussex to Sherwood Forest via Hadrian’s Wall 🤔

Luckily Alan Rickman was on hand to save the movie.

Brighton factually.....
Mark Wahlberg in The Happening, Planet Of The Apes and Flight Risk.

Not helped by all 3 being shit films but he doesn't help them to be less shit by being really shit in them.

Despite 2 Oscar nominations I'm not convinced that he is actually any good. However, when cast well, he has given some good performances. Not least in Boogie Nights.
Mark Wahlberg, Facts I only found out yesterday actually
In 1986, a then 15-year-old Wahlberg and three friends were charged for chasing three black children and pelting them with rocks while yelling: “Kill the n*****s” until an ambulance driver intervened.

The next day, Wahlberg harassed another group of mostly black children (around the age of nine or 10) at the beach, gathering other white men to join in racially abusing and throwing rocks at them.

A seemingly unrelated second incident occurred two years later in 1988, when Wahlberg attacked two Vietnamese men while high on the drug PCP. He called one man, Thanh Lam, a “Vietnam f***ing s***” and knocked him unconscious with a five-foot wooden stick, while punching another man, army veteran Johnny Trinh, in the eye later in the same day. Officers reported that Wahlberg used racist slurs to describe both men.

Just read a bit more about him. Does seem to be an arsehole.
