It seems you have missed your initial post which makes it make sense.

And I didn't belittle you for your choice of wolverine. That's not something I would get upset over

I rest my case. You clearly cannot write in English!

Real tough one this, the croc would have to be able to get his mouth around the hippo and roll.
That would take a big croc, probably bigger than any alive now and we know that the hippo can open his a huge amount.
Hippo relies on holding victims underwater till they drown.
Both can hold their breath for a long time, the croc for up to 15 mins, but the hippo for only 5mins.
If the croc managed to clamp down on the hippos jaws and was strong enough to hold it under water for 10 mins it will drown.
But the hippo will be too strong, unless it is out of it's depth in which case there will be no ground to get a grip on.
Under these conditions the croc would win, so the croc it is.

***VOTING UPDATE***

There has been some grumbling, possibly from bitter fans of defeated beasts, that there's been a low turn out amidst a wave of apathy caused by the elimination of the more popular animals.

The stat department have handed me the voting stats for this year compared to the previous four years and they make interesting reading.

Total number of votes in previous finals:
2014 - 278
2013 - 142
2012 - 104
2011 - 107
2010 - no data
2009 - no data
2007 - 82

This years final which, lest we forget, is only about a third of the way through, already has more votes than the finals of 2007, 2011 and 2012. It's only 14 shy of the 2013 final. In fact the croc currently has 76 votes, which is enough to have won the finals of 07,11,12 and 13. It seems that voter turn out is excellent. The only year that it is unlikely to match is 2014 - the year that honey badger fans claim was a fix. That year, by the way, saw the honey badger gain three times more votes than it did in its previous final...

The hippo should win. Firstly it's a creature everyone knows, it doesn't need to pretend it's some specialist salt water only lives in one place not related to it's poorer cousins etc. it's a hippo, no confusion.

Secondly I just can't see how the croc would kill the hippo. So hippo for me.

That said a giraffe would have destroyed both.

I googled it.
Hippo's mainly reside in fresh water such as rivers and lakes, but can also be found living in estuaries where fresh water and salt water mix. Hippo's have also been known to swim into the sea and swim up and down the coast but this is not a common occurrence

So an odd hippo now and again fancies a trip to the seaside. It doesn't make it hard.

.

Because it has the most powerful bite in the animal kingdom?

The only grumbling is from the HB Fanboys.

Superb tournament, played in the best of spirits, soured by bitter sore LOSERS.

So basically last years final was likes Lance armstrongs excuse, everyone else was cheating so i had to too?

Having the most powerful bite is really what this competition is about? Now I know why you vote the way you do...

It was a direct answer to a direct question.

Him: I can't see how a crocodile would kill a Hippo.
Me: Because it has the most powerful bite.

I haven't voted yet anyway, I'm waiting for someone to convince which is harder.

Oh yeah, I missed that bit in my rush for some morning WHC baiting…

Hippo obviously. It's aggression is a massive plus in WHC, wanton fighting just for the sake of it. Grumpy temper driven beast. Could steer well clear of trouble but doesn't. Regularly beaten up by elephants but still gives it a good go. Hard.
