Ive only just found out BBC 4 are doing a series on WWI called 1914-1918. But ive missed the first 2 episodes. I cant find them anywhere on line, can anybody help ?

Or any other documentary about WWI, my knowledge on this war is embrassingly small.

The BBC made the definitve documentary series about the First World War back in the 1960's called 'the great war'. You can buy the entire series in a 7 DVD box set direct from the BBC (website or shop). It contains fantastic film footage as there was a suprising amount shot at the time seeing as cine photography was in its infancy. It's expensive but well worth it as it tells the complete story of the the first world war.

I got a superb set of DVDs, 7 x WW1 ('In Colour' narrated by Kenneth Branagh) and 7 x WW11' ('Britain at War'), about 15-20 hours worth in total, just by cutting out coupons in The Mirror earlier this year. Maybe worth writing to them, asking if they have any left. Or you might like to equire at 'NUGUS/MARTIN Productions Ltd' who produced the WW1 set.

I wasn't very impressed with that series. A few innacuracies that I spotted and I didn't think it was anything like up to the high standard of The World at War.

But this latest series is better with excellent narration by Judi Dench.

I assume it is downloadable from BBCi player but I can't get that in Spain (unfortunately)
