I tell you what. Here's a rarity. A Scottish player in living memory who's played in a World Cup finals match.

Christian Dailly graced both le turf of France 98, and the green acres of the Theatre of Trees, for Charlton in 2009. One of Charlton's goals was scored by Dailly's fellow World Cup legend, Deon Burton.

Not forgetting Giroud of course with his two goals for Arsenal, and Bacray Sanga was on the bench for that game, so two French players for good measure as well!

Yes indeed, we've been spoilt, however as this thread title refers to players who appeared at Withdean, the players I've come up with are generally more of the mediocre variety
