Take your mind off the cruel world of football for a few moments and indulge your imaginary tastebuds for a bit...

Indian ROMPED home in group B and to be honest look favourites to win this competition.

Next up Group C

Group C - Chinese, Mexican, Russian, Caribbean

mmmm a number 25 for me. Surely Chinese are the favourites in this group. Still, Mexican food will be 'taco'-ing no prisoners. Will Russian food be 'stroganoff' (strong enough) and then there's Caribbean. Which I know nothing about.

VOTE!

I've got a feeling the Mexicans could qualify here. It is top two, right?

The problem with Chinese food is all the colouring keeps me awake and horrible vivid dreams. Mexican food is tremendous.

indeed, top two go through. euro 2004 is based on this competition so its pretty much the same.

i agree mexican food is superb and i'm finding this competition difficult to vote in. in the end i went with chinese based in the fact i have it more often and f***ing LOVE peking duck!

I had a very difficult decision here.

I make Mexican food at home a lot and it's fantastic. A couple of years ago I went to China and had the most wonderful food. However, eat either cuisine in restaurants in this country and more often than not it is very disappointing.

I voted Chinese on the strength of what I had in China since I've not yet been to Mexico

I'm feeling sorry for the Carribeans - they've ended up in a group of death situation here as it has to be said that their food is also very agreeable.

Didn't Indonesia qualify?

MEXICAN HOW CAN YOU NOT SUPPORT A DIET BASED ON 500 FIFFERENT CHILLI'S.

Russian? Borsch, Borsch and Borsch and pickles. Not particulary brialliant.

Chinese has an interesting formation but not particularly adventuros and rather bland.

Caribbean: cuisine based around fish, calf hoof's (England midfield), not actually my cup of tea.

Peking Duck is one of the sweetest foods in the world, but Mexican ... Fajitas, Nachos, Tacos, Burritos, Enchiladas

Two deserved quarter-finalists in this group, could push Indian all the way

Senor Dick's in Newquay has to be one of the finest Mexicans in the world, btw

plus vietmanese is also excellent, all of the depth of chinese, with great chilli movement, usage of lemon grass, flash of cocunut and a steady back four of more chilli.

Not fair. Mexican is fantastic stuff, but so too is Russian (and Caribbean, for that matter). But how many on here have had that much experience of Russian food?

I want to vote Russian, because they need the help; but it has no chance, so it will have to be Mexican - because it is SO much better than Chinese. Tactical voting - what a wonderful thing...

My local chinese restaurant/take-away makes the food fresh (as pretty much all good Chinese restaurants do), so I just ask them, when ordering, to leave out any chemical additives they normally use (especially MSG). And they happily oblige. They won't advertise that they will do it, because that means advertising to the thickos who don't already realise it that there are piles of chemicals in their food. But they are very happy to do it.
Try doing the same at your local, Simster.
