First night doing it perchance? :jester:

Try doing it for multiple nights in a row, in a busy as f*** bar, with thumping crap music, impatiant wanker stag party customers, people trying to pass off fake notes, dealing with both euro and sterling - its nowhere near great then.

Way out west
MYOB, just give an exchange rate of one pound for one euro, put the balance in your tips jar...should make it easier to stomach.

Barmen don't get tipped in Ireland, but substitute in "pocket" and that would have been a good idea ;)

Don't do it anymore, only did it for a summer a year ago, never ever again. I pity floor staff even more, although they don't usually have to deal with the tight old gits who want their pint replaced 3/4 of the way down because its apparently bad.

brighton, actually
well wadya expect, when...

it takes ages to get served..

glasses are dirty..

pints arent filled to the right level (with actual liquid, not including the head)..

you get the wrong change..
you have to ask for a tray, even when its obvious you cant carry 4 drinks or more in one go - and at brighton prices, you dont want to risk carrying / dropping them..

just a thought!

Working in a hectic pub, and dealing with all sorts can make a man of you - should be a right of passage..!

Add to MYOB list, Mafia style insurance protection by door workers, Drug dealers working your pub (and not cutting you in..) full on fights with 20 people kicking off, fire extinguishers being let off...oh and some one forgetting to take their pistol home with them one night... :shootself
:drink:
