Surreyjim 189 - 348 Blackie336

And (still miffed about this one having lead the whole way)

Gaswag 335 - 334 Blackie336

And to rub salt into the wounds having been smashing Bristolseagull before the game crashed I'm now quite a way behind!

We do return legs?

Welcome to the inaugural NSC Words with Friends Super Cup

The Rules

To start of with, each player will play twice against members of the group. One game they shall invite and the other game they shall be invited.

The top two from each group will proceed to a knockout tournament, along with the four best runners up (over one leg).

blah blah...

Yes!

Quick query re: league tables.

Is it 2 points for a win, 1 point each for a tie? Is it then done by Points Scored or Points Difference, if joint on points?

Surely points difference is fairer?

I'm not convinced...because unlike in football, can you really argue that points scored against you are your fault at all?

Added to the fact that you or your opponent could resign a game

Resigning is surely a COMPLETE no-no. The game must be played to its bitter end, or whats the point ?

My arse is still sore from Bozza's brutality (105 points for QUAY), but you have to soldier on just for damage limitation. Resignations should carry some form of PENALTY.

Of course you can. You can leave multi scoring boxes wide open for your opponent to exploit. Have you played Bozza yet? One game against him should convince you.
