Just sneaked home in this one, by the NARROWEST of innings victories.

So the Sauce are as good as down. Somerset vs Hampshire at Taunton next week. We're still guaranteed to be outside the bottom two whatever the result.

If Hants win that one, then we beat Somerset at Hove we'll be safe regardless of what happens in our last match vs Yorkshire. Therefore, although Somerset have more points than Hants right now I'd rather Hants won next week.

Sheesh, who am I kidding? We're going down :(

In the context of the game, what an innings by Joe Clark - he is 19! amazing

Definitely one for the future. Four 50s and a ton in his first eight first class games is a hell of a record (and a one-day ton to boot). Not against mug bowlers either, he faced Magoffin and Jordan for this and his second-highest score was against Yorkshire. (Can we poach him?) :)

Hampshire looking in a bit of trouble at the moment. Just 240 all out at Taunton is surely well below par, and it is only one bonus point. Somerset 53-0 at this point plus the full three bowling bonus points for them.

Looks like max points for Somerset and possibly only 1 for Hampshire (unless they can get another wicket in the next 13 overs). Somerset currently 424-2, 184 ahead with 7 sessions to go.

Means we would be 17 points ahead of Hampshire with 2 matches to go. Hopefully enough particularly if we engineer a max batting/bowling point draw with Somerset!

Hildreth could well overtake Luke Wright as top run scorer today. There's a dilemma: do we want Hants to get him out and get another point or let him get ahead of Lukey?

Doubt he will have enough time to get a big score before Somerset declare. Somerset 240 ahead.

And Hants had better hurry, they've only got 18 balls to get a point!
