Women's Rugby World Cup

Anybody else been watching this? Fantastic game last night with England beating Australia 15-0 to get a place in the final against New Zealand. Some of the other games I've watched have been a bit one-sided but despite the fact England led 12-0 for most of the match as the second half wore on you always had the feeling that Australia could pull it back.

Great running, handling and kicking skills as well (for the most part). I enjoyed it just as much as any mens' international - and of course it's always great to beat Australia at anything.

Yup, I've been watching the highlights because I don't have sky.

After Monday night training at my Rugby club we had the discussion of whereabouts the England women's team would fit into the Pryamid structure. Our coach reconed that they would be pretty high, because whilst they aren't as strong physically as men, their technieque (i.e. rolling when going into contact to gain that extra 2 foot) is fantastic. This is the kind of stuff our coach has been (unsuccessfully) trying to drill into us all summer!

England are more than capable of winning the final - after all, we have already beaten New Zealand this year.

Yeah, I can't BELIEVE how high the standard is now and I too was wondering where they'd fit into the pyramid. When I last watched a woman's game on TV it was an absolute joke - they were just crap rugby players. Now though as you say you expect them to demostrate all the skills (both individually and as a team) that decent male rugby players do. It was a surprise when one of them dropped a pass. And the kicking has improved out of all recognition.

I think you can get still get cheap tickets to the final on Sunday.

I was considering but at Twickenham on Saturday for the double-header and think three games of rugby in one weekend could be a little too much
