I expect some local football teams will use it too.

Hopefully Sussex Thunder American football team get a chance to go back there, bring the game back to Brighton. Not that I'm bitter, because the Albion obviously serve the community on a much larger scale, but its a shame that coming home had a negative impact on the smaller sports clubs that used the ground. In Sussex Thunder's case, it effectively caused the club to fold.

More to the point, what will become of the Brewery Tap?

If the landlord's even slightly smart, he should be thinking about selling up soon.

Preferably to some dim Londoner who has not done his homework

id like to see a replica of windsor castle built on it, along with a penis shaped maze that is grown out of facial hair donated by pensioners

I thought they were putting the new waste incinerator there.

It did alright for Steve Ovett.

As far as I know, it's going back to what it used to stage. The North Stand will remain as it is, the new changing rooms will stay. Not sure about the south stand facilities (toilets) but the whole of the South Stand is being removed. The other temporay Stands will be kept in storage so they can be put back up when an event that requires them is hosted there.

I like Withdean. I will miss it when we leave. Dunno about you guys who went to the Goldstone, you probably will miss the Goldstone more, but Withdean has been unique. We are the one football club in this country with an athletics track at the moment, and despite all the stick its got, away fans have never been put off.

The one feature of Withdean that I will miss is the ability we South Standers have to wander the length of the pitch, meeting people, watching the pre-match warm up sessions from close up (at both ends) and generally acting as if we own the place.

I've not known that at any other league ground.

What withdean represents is brighton playing in brighton, not bloody kent. What it doesn't represent is home. The goldstone was home. a ramshackle, downtrodden, tight, memory-filled, the-kashmir-curry-house-facing -home (just my feelings like). the future stadium in falmer will be home, withdean has served us well and i'll for ever be grateful, but bring on the future.

Hmm, dunno about that last bit 1066 - we do get away fans of course, but there must be many who don't bother because of the lack of facilities/view.
