144th edition out today - any other collectors on NSC?

Should be some nice bits on Sussex.

The Index of Unusual Occurrences apparently includes Grizz costing us five penalty runs by putting on the wicketkeeper's glove...

and a bowler achieving figures of 1-1-6-0...?

Didn't know it was out today. Thanks.

I actually got a £38 book voucher for my birthday last September from my partner's father specifically to get the next Almanac when it came out. :lolol:
nice one :lolol: buy it Sussex Stationers and get another cricket book with the difference...

The Leading Cricketer was Muttiah Muralitharan, but he was unable to attend the award ceremony as he was up all night chucking.

How does that work then?

Is it to do with penalty runs?

Do they go down against the bowler?

not sure... I don't think penalty runs go against the bowler... I think it must be that they bowled a normal maiden and then the first ball of their next over was illegitimate, cost 6 runs, and finished the match... a no-ball hit for four?

Or it could presumably be 2 (or more) consecutive no-balls, as long as they totalled 6 runs and allowed the opposing team to win the match.

Or it could be a bowler bowling a no-ball, then bowling a ball above waist height for the 2nd time in the match which is despatched for 4, and is subsequently removed from the attack and not allowed to bowl again in the innings?

I know it

Its towards the end of the game and the team need 6 to win.

The bowlers first over was a maiden and he is about to start his 2nd over

He runs up to bowl and he's called for a no-ball and the ball is hit into the outfield and they attempt to take 1 run - in the confusion the ball is thrown at the stumps, misses them and goes for 4 overthrows and the game ends

being the fact that the bowler bowled a no-ball it doesnt count and add the 5 runs plus the no-ball means his analysis is

1-1-6-0 !
