As you have a broadband modem and router, why bother with a wireless router? You can plug your existing router into a WAP (Wireless Access Point). These can be £20-25 cheaper than Wireles Routers and would give you the same results.

I got a WAP for around £50 in December. Got it from Amazon. Works like a dream. It is the Linksys WAP54G-UK (yep it's a 'G' and works at 54mbps).

Of course you will still need a wirless card in each machine as mentioned previously (you may not need one in your primary PC though as some modems will allow you to attach, by wire, to the modem or router).

Go to PC World and look on the box, there is a diagram on the back showing you what you need to do to set it up. Then go home and buy it on the net! Mind you, it wasn't much more in PC World.

Using Belkin here all is fine was simple to set-up and only cost £55 for the wireless Router and £25 for the network card. Runs at a very good speed too.
