Yay a food thread :clap2:

What's a good dish/recipe to make tonight that can warm ya cockles up in this snowy type weather?

I'm thinking toad in the hole with VENISON bangers, but could be inspired into making something else.

My wife hollows out a big pumpkin and make a veg stew in it. She uses lots of different veg and sweet potatoes.
It is out of this world when its cold outside and you have just got home from work.

Cooked a steak and ale stew on saturday. Probably not brilliant for a week day as it needs to cook low and slow for four hours minimum. Just onions, garlic, carrot, parsnip, stewing steak, stock, ale and chuck it in the oven. Beauty.

Morrocon fish stew! Bloomin lovely! Or some kind of slow cooked sunday dinner, like a stew, casserole!

I went COOK MENTAL this weekend.

I made some LASAGNE, I did some CORNFLAKE cakes (not strictly a winter warmer, that one) and I rounded off proceedings with a good old fashioned ROAST chicken.

Top deliciousness.

Apple crumble and custard. Unbeatable for a cold night.

Tex Mex Lasagne - like a normal lasagne but Chilli up the mince, add kidney beans and jalapenos etc then top off with Nachos on the top and grated melted cheese. Serve with guacamole, salsa and sour cream.

Will go for stew as well. Piece of piss to make, in fact it's pretty much impossible to get it wrong.

Just brown off some beef, then chuck it in a pot with a half a bottle of red wine and some stock, plus whatever herbs and veg you like, and leave it for four hours at about 130 - 150.

Chuck on some dumplings for the last 30 minutes.
