OK - I'm finally back in the world of Internet connections so here are the rules :-
All I need is a 5 letter team name for everyone whose entering - and that's about it really.
Dependent on numbers, I'll run divisions with the top players facing a Champions League style shootout on the long version of the game which accepts players names and shows scorers, bookings etc.
For anyone who hasn't played before - there's nothing to it. It's an old Vic 20 game I played as a nipper which I stumbled across the rom for a few weeks ago. It's nothing more than a glorified random number generator as no user input is required. I will give all teams a rating of 5 which means an even playing field. Home teams get a 60/40 weighting by default and the mighty Vic 20 does the rest. No tactics or formation.
As this game will probably mean more than 22 players, I'll spread the game out over a few days - work commitments mean I can't do it all in one stretch. Fortunately, the emulator I use let's me save the state of the game so there should be no problems.
I'll create a thread for each division after numbers have been decided and post screenshots of the results and the occasional league table. I'll also decide on the exact rules when I have a definite number of players. I'll probably incorporate playoffs to extend the drama for a few more players. And, as it's my game, they'll probably be the way I believe playoffs should be - 5 plays 6 at 5's ground, winner play's 4 at 4's ground, winner play's 3 at 3's ground.
That's about it - anyone whose debating - just enter a team name - it's all you need to do. It's up to you whether or not to join in the goading/abuse/encouragement on the threads.
For anyone whose entered but not given a team name, please edit your original post with your 5 letter team name.
