Yet another football club looking for a quick fix.

Brizzle were in a real mess when Wilson took over, looking more like candidates for relegation than promotion. This season he finished just one point off automatic promotion and he gets sacked.

So, another manager comes in and he has to start all over again ..... and what happens if he fails to get promoted next season?

I'm sure Wilson will get a new job soon. I think he's a pretty decent manager.

Would we have sacked McGhee if we had lost the final?
I don't think so

No I don't think so either. It was his first shot at promotion and we finished 4th which is 4 positions higher than when he arrived.

Danny Wilson had been there 4 years and had 4 goes at it, spending a fortune in the meantime.

I feel sorry for him - he was a top player on the pitch and a decent bloke off it.

It's a shame it was our result that effectively sealed his fate, but however much I admire him the Albion are part of my life forever and they are the most important thing to me.

I'm pretty sure he'll get another decent position soon.

Good luck Danny.

This season he has been awfull basically , spending over 1 million , rubbish tactics , playing players completely out of position when everyone else could see they cant play there. And as you saw on sunday , his negative tactics are unbeleivable. He has done well in stabilising the club , but had he been in charge anymore we would have become stagnant and would be in danger of going backwards. The chairman has done the right thing ,the only problem is the pressure on the next manager to get us up will be huge.

I'm not surprised he has gone but don't envy the next manager as the pressure is on to get Bristol City promoted. If he fails would they sack him too??

No of course not , the next manager will probably get 2 seasons to get us up. Were not in the habit of sacking managers straight away.(not with our newish chairman anyway).

Being a 'nice guy' doesnt really get you anywhere in football. He may be too nice.
Good luck at your next job Danny (Leeds after Christmas).

Crazy. 9th 7th 3rd and 3rd is hardly failure. I think by next season they would have been strong condenders for the title. Now they will have to start all over again.

Poor old Danny - a man of great dignity.
