A tragedy in my view, if it's true. The City fans just haven't got a clue.

Stunned!

Lansdown, the chairman, was quoted in Evening Post today as saying that Wilson was staying..... And just why do the city fans think that someone else coming in is going to do any better?

was my favourite for the Albion job - one of the few decent (non Albion) managers about and still has a soft spot for us. Great player.

City have finished 3rd for the last 2 seasons and everyone knows the play-offs are a lottery so I would say he has done bloody well.

I know City fans were moaing about the tactics against us but looking at the overall picture he as been pretty good for them.

Albion & England forever.

Has he been sacked or just walked out?

Can't believe he would take too long to find another job, hope he gets one soon.

Wilson leaves Robins post

Wilson paid the price for failing to win promotion
Bristol City have announced manager Danny Wilson has parted company with the club after four years in charge.
The news came days after the Robins lost in the Division Two play-offs for the second season running, being beaten 1-0 by Brighton in this year's final.

The former Northern Ireland international won 107 of his 226 games as City boss.

In his four seasons in charge, they finished ninth, seventh, third and third in Division Two

Bizarre. You could hardly say he's been a failure.

He hasn't achieved what they wanted which was promotion despite spending over a million.

Other managers have done it on a shoe string.

Wasn't aware of how much he'd spent. Don't follow city that closely obviously. Kind of makes it understandable but even so play-off final isn't a failure.
They should cut him some slack. They were never going to beat us were they?:lolol:
Makes you appreciate what has been achieved here on next to nothing.

Admire his loyalty to his club, but I bet he now wishes he had taken the Albion job when it was offered to him. Won't be long before he finds something else though.

The Bristol City chairman didn't allow Uncle Dick to speak to him, so it's hardly Danny Wilson's fault he isn't currently Brighton manager.

Thought I heard somewhere that he said he wouldn't have taken it anyway. He obviously thought (as we did) that City would very soon be a Div1 club.
I know that many Bristol fans were unhappy with his tactics on Sunday.

He did exactly the same with Bristol as he did with Sheff Wed.

He is very negative. I am glad he didn't come here. He doesn't know how to motivate players.

Nice guy and a part of our history etc. but he had 4 years to get what should be a DivI level club out of the second division - and failed.

Inevitable really.
