That's exactly what I was thinking, I honestly couldn't give a toss about the pope. I'm not a catholic and in fact not really religious at all so I certainly won't be going out of my way to welcome the man with the silly white hat.

Quite, the thing is Catholics will want to see him as he is the head of their church. Nothing would stop them and at the end of the day why should it ? despite the deserved outcry about child abuse it's a very small minority that is involved and I doubt that many Catholics are too concerned anyway. I'm a relapsed Catholic, I have no time for any religion but that's my choice.
