Remember that signing a striker is also about personal terms, prior to now even in the summer we were not an attractive club to a championship striker and there were probably about 10 more attractive clubs in league 1. If we can stay in the top 2 (or preferably top) we are the most attractive club in the league and better placed than probably half the championship clubs. We should be able to poach a striker from any league one club or the championship. I think if Uncle T knows that we have a chance of securing automatic promotion the cash will be available (2 million ?) - it makes sense to invest as promotion will sell more season tickets for Falmer.

We need a proven scorer on loan immediately and sign him in January, we have already lost enough points due to missed chances,we cannot afford not to lay out the cash now to ensure we do not open at Falmer in division1,this standard of football is poor where ever its played so dont let us miss out by not putting in the last piece of the jigsaw.

I think there is a good chance we will. Bloom is no doubt desperate for us to get to the Championship asap, so if we are still in a good position come January, I think he will provide funds to Gus to sign a striker.

I'm quite hopeful we'll keep him for the rest of the season, He seems to be enjoying playing for us and the chance of winning promotion with the Albion has got to be more appealing than just a possible place on the bench at Newcastle.

Ben Afra's injury is a worry though. I suspect Newcastle will have watchers at every game.

I would like us to sign a young premiership striker on loan like Bournemouth did when they signed Defoe. Then see how the land lies at Christmas either extend it or buy somebody. I think that Barnes is an ideal sub at the moment but too much is expected of him at present.
