West Ham clearly want Alan Pardew to be their next manager and despite what the Reading chairman says, managers usually walk for bigger clubs.

IF that happens ( and I know it's an IF at the moment) who would Reading go for?

Coppell would have to be one of the favourites wouldn't he? Intelligent, southern based and knows the Ist Division.

Obviously, I hope like hell this doesn't happen but you wouldn't bet against Reading making an approach if Pardew does go.

If (and it hasn't happened yet!) Pardew goes, then I imagine someone like the similarly-named Steve Cotterill will be very possible.

Lawrie Sanchez will never get the job. He's applied before and just got told to feck off. He might be a Reading fan, and a Reading player, but Reading manager over my dead body.

Coppell isn't unlikely, but as said, there are plenty of decent names to throw into the hat. I wouldn't even start worrying about it yet... I hope that Pardew stays, and he just uses this exercise to get more transfer funds out of Madejski.

Pardew will probably suggest Coppell to Madjeski as his parting shot, just to spite us.

Or take him to West Ham as his assistant. Question is, how would Coppell fancy working underneath another man? :p
