Right you all know what happened. Will the FIA give Lewis the deserved win or will they be a bunch of complete wankers and be biased to Ferrari AGAIN?

"no, because they've made their decision and aren't stupid enough to reverse it, as they'll look like idiots".

i wonder what the reaction would have been had schumacher done it - i would hazard a guess at people calling him "a cheating prick"

Id imagine so. But the point is people would call him a cheating prick because he never got in trouble for anything he did.

So Hamilton has got in trouble, but you're complaining, yet wouldn't complain at Schumacher because he didn't get in trouble.

Clueless. :shootself:

trying to run villeneuve off the track resulted in him being disqualified from the drivers championship - id say that was pretty big trouble!

and he was stripped of pole once for trying to block alonsos qualifying lap by parking his car

schumacher probably got away with more because his discrepencies were FLAIR

Yes but Schumacher did bad stuff most races, obviously the BLOCKING THE WHOLE track incident and CRASHING into Villeneuve incidents stand out. Also ramming Hill of the track at Australia 94, which went un punished.

If Schumacher and Ferrari were treated the same as everyone else then no one would have complained, people were only always moaning about them because they never got in trouble. Unless they made it completely obvious, eg - blocking a street circuit or crashing into your tital rival. So f*** off Joe 90

There was some suggestion any appeal would be thrown out anyway. My understanding was the offence is normally punishable by forcing the guilty driver to let the victim pass (something Lewis did) but because the race had finished when the decision was made they decided on the time penalty.

A driver is not allowed to appeal against a 'drive through' which leaves the waters somewhate muddied in this case.

The argument is that although Hamilton did let the Ferrari overtake him he was still in a beneficial position having cut the corner and therefore able to just reclaim the position at the next corner.

Seems a tad harsh on Hamilton - especially when the conditions were becoming pretty hazardous and he actually did well to avoid crashing.

Not much chance of them over-turning it though.

You can't have it both ways though.

"People were always moaning because they never got in trouble"

- well, now Hamilton is in trouble, you can't moan, surely!?

still dont think that was deliberate though - the 97 incident DEFINITELY was, i think he saw what happened from the accidental crash in 94 and tried to do it again

other controversial issues from his career - the whole team orders thing with barrichello letting him win, there was nothing illegal in that, the fia only changed the rules AFTER ferrari took advantage

the only incident i can think of that he wasnt punished for was the farce of taking a stop-go penalty once the race had finished

people were just jealous of schumachers ability and the fact that he dominated the sport in a way that nobody else is ever likely to do. 9 times out of 10 he was punished for breaking the rules, yet still came back to win title after title. that is the sign of a great driver

Yes they never got in trouble although doing loads of stuff wrong, cheating etc bending the rules. Hamilton does one thing wrong and gets a very harsh punishment, despite letting Raikkonen back through. Stop being an idiot.

It is not the first time Hamilton has done something wrong though is it?

Also, he may have let Raikkonen back through but he was still in a position to merely overtake him at the next corner anyway. A position he would not have been in had he not cut the corner...
