All this reminds me of the Juninho joke! I'll repeat it here adapted for the Albion. Apologies to those that have heard it before.
Brazil are invited to play the Albion in a pre-season friendly as part of their Europe an tour, all proceeds of the game to be donated to a local kids charity. Unfortunately the Brazilians are none to keen to attend Withdean and see it as an insult to play at such a lowly venue. They all refuse to play except the pint sized Juninho who having a soft spot for England and not wanting to let the little kiddies down decides to play the game on his own representing Brazil!
So Juninho turns up at the Withdean on his own and the game kicks off, amazingly on 23 minutes he jinks past Chippy before bamboozling Butters and 2 more defenders and then nutmegs Henderson from 25 yards to make it 1-0 to Brazil. Thus remains the score until the final whistle.
Juninho returns to the team hotel in floods of tears. His team-mates can't believe it. Ronaldo goes to console Juninho and says, "Why are you crying, you played against a team of 11 men and still managed to beat them 1-0 on your own, you have upheld the honour of Brazil and are a true hero", Juninho replies, "No my friend, I have brought shame on my country, I was sent off at half-time!".
