Will Roberts play for us again?

According to the official site he was sent home from training with a high temperature which will set him back another few days.

Now although I rate him as a keeper when hes not having his mad moments, will he ever get back to full fitness and even if he did, would MM pick him above Kuipers who seems to be in the form of his life?

Would having his wages freed up give us the chance to get an outfield player in and help us push away from the drop zone?

Although it seems a waste of money to have two quality keepers, i'd rather us keep both. Should anything happen to one of them, like with roberts currently, with have got quality cover. This is extremely important, IMHO, in this division.

We need two class keepers as they are both injury prone. One or the other has been injured for the last year, how many games have both been available for selection? Fortunately there have only a couple of occasions when they've both been injured at the same time.

i dont think roberts would have let in the goal on tuesday he would have come for it or stayed on his line

yeah but i dont think roberts would have saved some of the shots that kuipers did swings and round abouts if we could combine there best qualitys together a top keeper would be there

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
The minute we start f***ing about letting one keeper go will be the minute that Kuipers gets injured and then we have to go down the road of loaning someone in (not always the cheapest option) who, chances are, are not that great (Jones, Flitney etc )

Despite what those who come on here to talk about the youth team say, we aint got anyone who is ready for the step up for a good few years to come, and McGhee would be the first to acknowledge that I would guess.

kuipers is more predictable the defence seem to not know what roberts will do some times espically on crosses.

but still a class keeper

How you can still be slagging Kuipers off is beyond me, now his kicking is consistent he is the better of the two, there is no way Roberts could have kept us in the game on Tuesday.

I think it is pretty certain that one of them will go in the summer and this lad Martin will be fast tracked into the squad as cover.

The only problem I have with Kuipers is his decision making from corners. He would have been my MoM on Tuesday if he hadn't been so indecisive for their goal because we could easily have gone in 3-1 down at half time. He is the better keeper and should be this clubs No1 for a while yet.

Yep - Roberts is a clown - Kuipers is in top form at present, credit where credit is due please

Both are good keepers and both have their down points. I think we should keep both, although I must confess to preferring Roberts. Kuipers has been rather argumentative recently, although I can understand his frustration at some of the refereeing decisions. However, he needs to keep his mouth shut or else he might find himself being sent of - then, if Roberts is not available, there will only be May, who lacks first team experience. I hope Roberts will be back soon.

He'll be back, I'm sure. It would be good to have the two of them challenging for the one spot.

Agree with that, we have two of the best keepers in the league.

Nonsense! Kuipers is doing well at the moment and has done in the past, but who are you to say that Roberts wouldn't have done as well? Past statistics show him to have had a better record than Kuipers. I'm not slagging off Kuipers, but his kicking is NOT consistent, although it has improved. The defense also seem to play better when Roberts is in goal.

Anyway, at the end of the day it is a matter of opinion and, in many cases, loyalty to Kuipers seems to influence this because of his past service to the club.

Agree to disagree - I think Roberts has too many "funny five Minutes" like Tranmere away last year

Both great keepers who are both prone to injury so we need both.
My personal preference is Roberts, but i am more than happy with Kuipers.
