I hope this thread is bounced in a few years time- I admit maybe the thread title should have read "Will Barber become the most hated man since Archer and Belotti?"
Will 10 months do?

Don't like the bloke.
nor me
but I will say he sorted the "Player" problem pretty smartish
he has a job to do ......this does not mean you have to like or love the guy.
Archer and Bellotti were at the heart of a conspiracy to 'con' the fans and staff, so rightly deserve to be demonised.
Whereas Paul Barber was brought in by the chairman to do a very specific job i.e. run a tighter ship, get us compliant with FFP - and keep us there. So he is merely doing what Tony Bloom wants. Maybe PB does not always communicate as effectively as he might with the 'customers' but he is accessible and willing to give answers in person. However he still has a job to do, which may not make him popular - but it is for the longer term good of the club.
The Chairman might be a billionaire and has already spent a huge fortune of his own money (must be around £150m) but that doesn't mean he should just underwrite the sort of annual losses we have incurred, that just isn't good business. It may be boring for some but unfortunately it makes good sense to see the Albion operate on a more sustainable basis in the longer term. Tony needs to safeguard his investment, which in turn means we have a viable football club.
It is very easy for the fans' hearts to rule their heads and hope Tony and Paul will just splash even more cash or find some cunning way of circumventing FFP to give us a bigger transfer and wage budget. It will be interesting to see the scale of the future deals with our big sponsors, American Express, Nike and whoever we have lined up to name the training complex. These are all indicators that we are trying to generate income and manage costs, to the benefit of the footballing side of things.

I like him - he is very honest and ALWAYS replies personally to questions. Bloom brought him in to do the job and I think we are lucky to have him, being a well run club and living within our means to secure the future of the club must be our number 1 priority. Very sure we will be have successes with this too.
