Yes, he released him.

Not sure you can read too much into Swansea releasing Bony (whether it was Potter or not). He was brought back when they were in the PL and was a big earner they wanted off the books in the Championship. He was released alongside several other senior players who would all have been costing them a lot of money in wages.

Bony coming in has to be quite unlikely, but if he did you could see the logic as he will be a known quantity to Potter. If he wants someone to be available as injury crisis contingency, it may be a case of better the devil you know and all that...

Potter left within days of the end of the season. It maybe that Swansea took the decision rather than Potter?
Actually I think Potter had a 'try to keep Potter' meeting with Swansea, and who Swansea released - as an indication of their ( lack of ) ambition - was part of his decision.

Nice of him to put a tie on for the contract signing. At least he comes with a lifetime guarantee. Wonder if he still uses Derek Guyler's voice.

Well, your toe bone connected to your foot bone
Your foot bone connected to your heel bone
Your heel bone connected to your ankle bone
Your ankle bone connected to your leg .......... oh.

Now I see why Swansea let you go.
